Dan Messer is many things to many people and absolutely nothing to many more. Professionally he’s a public librarian specializing in circulation and library technology. Academically he’s a historian specializing in Japanese civilization, the history of science, and World War II. Scientifically he’s an amateur astronomer with a passion for exosolar planets and exotic stars. Artistically he’s a new age and electronica musician as well as being an artist working in digital and traditional mediums.
More than anything, he’s kind of a nerd.
Dan’s very active online and you can find him lurking in several different places. Follow him on Twitter if you have the urge. You can meet him on Facebook. He has several blogs including his personal blog, a blog dealing with information science, and another dealing with the adult film industry.
As his alter-ego, The Faceless Historian, he’s the creator, writer, producer, and narrator of Hyperlinked History. A bi-weekly show syndicated on the LISNews Netcast Network, Hyperlinked History is a show where seemingly disconnected historical events are linked together over the timeline of the past.
He also knows that you’re supposed to write biographical stuff in the third person, but thinks it feels really weird to do so.
