Okay, so I have a baby grand piano, a keyboard, a computer which I compose
music on, and now a kick ass digital drum set. All I really need is a laser
harp and I'll be a total geek for the musical instruments. (Or maybe a MIDI
guitar? That'd be awesome too!)

For those who don't know, I kinda have this sock fetish. Needless to say, I think these are especially cool.
Whenever I go to Tokyo, I always end up buying socks. This photo, taken by TokyoMango reader Martin Widenka, helps me understand why. I don't wear short shorts like that but who can resist such fun ways to dress up your legs?
The rings of Saturn are what make Saturn special really. It’s just another gas giant and it looks quite a bit like Jupiter and Uranus. It’s big, it’s got lots of satellites, but that’s it.
Yet it does have rings and those rings make the planet spectacular and crown it as the jewel of the solar system. Still, the science fiction nerd begins to wonder; what would it be like if the Earth had a ring system like Saturn? What would the sky look like? What would our planet look like?
Wonder no more. While this may not be a 100% scientifically accurate video, it’s pretty close. They even went so far as to place the rings at the Roche limit for our planet.

This is six shades of bullshit. I've worked in public libraries half my life and let me tell you, requiring something to participate in a library activity is not only stupid, it's pretentious and exclusive.
From an anonymous submission comes this newspaper clipping – public library X is requiring proof of a book checkout “within the past two weeks” for young people to participate in “Game Day.”
Not pointing any fingers nor making accusations, but…
A while back, romance author extraordinaire Nora Roberts wrote a book called Birthright. In it there are two characters. One is a guy named Douglas Edward Cullen, just like the main character of Twilight. Perhaps it’s just a coincidence, but then you take into account that there’s another character in Roberts’ book named Jacob. He’s a smug, Native American type. (Sound familiar?) Then there’s another character called Carlyle…
Hmmm….
I’ve got an idea for a book. It’s called Reasonable Expectations. It’s got a main character called Phillip Skirrup, but everyone calls him Skip. He thinks he’s going to learn how to be a blacksmith, but suddenly he gets sent to London to learn the ways of a gentleman. While there he meets the lovely Bella Havisham and they have many adventures in the land of Oz.
I used to love crime and mystery shows. I was a huge fan of CSI and NCIS and Law and Order and all that stuff. I’m just a mystery buff at heart so these shows were my kinda thing; in other words, they’re mysteries.
But I can’t do it. I just can’t watch them anymore. I get so sick of the same tired cliches popping up in not just one show, but all of them. And of all those cliches, this is the worst of them all.
So while I wasn’t one hundred percent in love with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, I didn’t think it was a horrible game. It definitely had potential and I think its infuriating that it didn’t live up to that potential.
Looks like they’re going to give it another go and I hope they do with this game what they should’ve done with the last one. Also, I like this idea… the two lightsabers. I like where this is going and they need to keep that up.
I need to find out where this coffee shop is so that I might visit it and partake of their coffee. I bet it’s delicious. If nothing else, I’m positive that my kind of people work there.
Growing up, I was more of a He-Man kid, but I certainly knew about his sister She-Ra. The name always confused my childhood mind because I always thought that the sister of He-Man should be named She-Woman. Either way, it wasn’t my bag but I understood that she wasn’t exactly supposed to be either.
Now that I’m older, and don’t care what people think, I kind of like She-Ra. She provides a good lesbian counterpoint to the gay undertones present in He-Man. And, when I see art like this, I really think someone could make a decent movie about this, or at least another decent cartoon.
As a Transformers fan, I have to admit that the video games based on the beloved sci-fi series have been, well, lackluster. The recent movie tie-ins weren’t horrible by any stretch of the imagination but god knows they weren’t good either. Though if we’re going to talk about video game/movie tie-ins, then the games were spectacular as far as that genre rolls.
So I dunno. I’m kind of on the fence about this news about a new Transformers game based on Cybertron before the first contact. It’s a third person shooter, like the others, and while I’m sure the animation will be superb I just don’t know about the gameplay. I just have this feeling that…
I love zombie stories even though they, at heart, all the same. There’s the same cast of characters trying to survive the hordes of walking dead by doing the same things and making the same mistakes.
And yet I find this irresistible. There’s a wonderful collection of zombie short stories out called The Living Dead. It’s pretty freakin’ cool and very well put together. So imagine my happieness when I discovered that there will be a sequel!

Folks, I've seen some incredibly bizarre stuff in my time. But I think this takes some kind of prize, if there were prizes.
This gentleman couldn't figure out why food was going missing in his high-storey NYC apartment. His girlfriend denied taking it. So he set up a hidden camera to see what was happening, and shortly thereafter, he saw a strange woman creep out of a deep storage crawlspace over the kitchen, let herself down onto the kitchen table and help herself to his pantry. He phoned the police (he was in the apartment), and they told him after investigating that they believed the woman had been secretly living in his apartment for weeks.
